Iran Offers to Mediate Between Pakistan and Afghanistan Amid Tensions

TEHRAN: Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi urged Pakistan and Afghanistan to resolve their differences through restraint and dialogue. He renewed Tehran’s offer to mediate between the two neighbours.

According to Iran’s official news agency Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi made the remarks in a post on X. He said the holy month of Ramadan, a time of patience and unity in the Islamic world, provides an appropriate opportunity for both countries to manage and settle their disputes within the framework of good neighbourly relations and talks.

Araghchi said Iran stands ready to facilitate dialogue and strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation between Islamabad and Kabul. He pledged Tehran’s full support for any effort aimed at easing tensions.

Iran’s offer comes amid ongoing regional efforts to reduce tensions and promote stability across the region.
