ICC Revises Schedule for Semi Final of T20 World

MUMBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revised the schedule for the T20 World Cup semi-finals.

Whether Pakistan qualifies for the semi-finals or not, if Sri Lanka qualifies for the semi-finals, the first semi-final will be played in Colombo, provided the opponent is India or any other team.

In a communication sent by the ICC to all stakeholders after the completion of the Super Eight stage, the arrangements for the semi-finals have been clarified.

According to the communication, the first semi-final is a floating arrangement and can be held in either Colombo or Kolkata, depending on specific conditions.

The communication states that if Pakistan qualifies for the semi-finals, they will play Semi-Final 1 in Colombo on March 4.

If Pakistan does not qualify for the semi-finals but Sri Lanka does qualify and their opponent is not India, then Sri Lanka will play Semi-Final 1 in Colombo.

The ICC has also clarified that if neither Pakistan nor Sri Lanka qualifies for the semi-finals, Semi-Final 1 will be played in Kolkata, while Semi-Final 2 will be held in Mumbai.

If India qualifies for the semi-finals, they will play in Mumbai, except in the case where their opponent is Pakistan—in which case the match will be shifted to Colombo.
