ISLAMABAD: In a significant escalation of cross-border tensions, Pakistan has conducted a wave of precision airstrikes against militant hideouts in Afghanistan, publicly releasing detailed coordinates and intelligence to counter Afghan allegations of civilian casualties. Islamabad maintains that the pre-dawn operation on Sunday was a “retributive response” to a series of deadly terrorist attacks on Pakistani soil, targeting what it describes as the “epicenter” of terrorism plotting against the state .
The strikes, which occurred around midnight, targeted districts in the eastern Afghan provinces of Nangarhar and Paktika. According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the military conducted “intelligence-based, selective operations” against seven camps and hideouts belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)—referred to by the government as Fitna al-Khwarij (FAK)—and its affiliates, including the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP)

Top sources confirmed that Pakistani forces carried out airstrikes in the Bermal and Urgun districts of Paktika province, as well as the Khogyani, Bahsod (Behsud), and Ghani Khel districts of Nangarhar province. Specific targets included a terrorist camp in Paktika‘s Arghun district and a madrasa in the Bermal district, which was being used as a militant facilitation point .
