BOLAN: A police officer was martyred during an encounter with suspected armed robbers near Kambari Bridge in the Bolan area of Balochistan on Saturday.
According to police sources, the deceased officer has been identified as Muhammad Musa Mastoi, who was serving as an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI). The incident occurred when a police team acted on a tip-off regarding the presence of armed individuals allegedly planning a robbery in the area.
As the law enforcement team approached the suspects, they came under heavy fire, triggering an intense exchange of gunfire. During the confrontation, ASI Muhammad Musa Mastoi sustained critical injuries and succumbed to them, embracing martyrdom.
Following the incident, a heavy contingent of police, led by SSP Kachhi Moaz-ur-Rehman, swiftly arrived at the scene. The area was cordoned off, and a large-scale search operation has been launched to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
Authorities have confirmed that the pursuit of the escaped robbers is ongoing, and a thorough investigation into the incident has been initiated.
