Lt. Col. Martyed, Five Khawarij Killed in Bannu Suicide Attack: Confirms ISPR

BANNU: In a cowardly attack, a Pakistan security forces convoy was targeted by Indian-backed militants of Fitna al Khawarij in Bannu District. The attack occurred during an intelligence-based operation on the reported presence of militants, including a suicide bomber.

Security forces intercepted a vehicle-borne suicide attacker, preventing him from hitting civilians or law enforcement personnel. The interception averted a major catastrophe in Bannu City.

During the operation, militants were located. After an intense exchange of fire, five Khawarij were killed by security forces. In desperation, one militant rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a leading convoy vehicle.

Lieutenant Colonel Sahibzada Gul Faraz, 43, a resident of District Manshera and commanding officer of the operation, was killed in the blast while leading his troops from the front. Sepoy Karamat Shah, 28, from District Peshawar, also lost his life.

Authorities said the Khawarij continue terrorist activities inside Pakistan while using Afghan soil as a base, violating the holy month of Ramadan. Officials noted that these militants have no link to Islam.

The Afghan Taliban regime has again failed to prevent cross-border attacks. Pakistan vowed to continue operations against the perpetrators, regardless of location, to ensure retribution.
