Police Arrest 37 Afghans in Turbat

TURBAT: Security forces in Turbat have arrested 37 Afghan nationals during an operation in Balida Tehsil. The detainees were traveling in two vehicles.

Police said the group included 19 women and 18 children. They were reportedly attempting to cross into Iran illegally.

Meanwhile, authorities across Pakistan are conducting phased screening of Afghan residents living in the country without legal status. Officials are verifying residency records and identification documents.

During the ongoing operation, 31 more undocumented Afghans were detained in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Murree, and Jhelum.

Security officials said the operations involved police units, female police teams, and elite police sections.
