Kabul’s backing of militancy not acceptable: Asif

ISLAMABAD: In an interview with a French broadcasting outlet, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif stated that Pakistan will not hesitate to conduct airstrikes inside Afghanistan if necessary.

He said that attacks on Pakistan are the result of a proxy war being waged by the Taliban government and India.

Delhi, Kabul, and the terrorist groups present there are involved in these attacks on Pakistan.

According to Khawaja Asif, banned groups such as Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and ISIS, among others, are operating from Afghan soil.

No attacks can take place against Pakistan without the knowledge, consent, or patronage of the Kabul government.

He added that the possibility of war with India still exists.
