Balochistan govt announces revised Ramazan office hours

QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan has officially announced the revised working hours for government offices across the province for the holy month of Ramazan.

According to a notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD), all government institutions have been directed to adhere to the new schedule, with normal hours set to resume after the conclusion of Ramazan.

As per the announced schedule, all government offices will open at 9:00 am throughout the month. For offices operating on a five-day work week, timings will be from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm from Monday to Thursday. On Friday, these offices will close early at 1:00 pm.

For offices operating on a six-day work week, the timings will be from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm from Monday to Thursday, as well as on Saturday. On Friday, these offices will remain open only until 12:00 pm.

The notification stated that all government institutions have been instructed to ensure the implementation of the new timings.

Meanwhile in a bid to provide maximum relief to consumers during the holy month of Ramazan, the Quetta Electric Supply Company (Qesco) has announced a comprehensive plan to ensure uninterrupted power supply, particularly during Sehr, Iftar, and Taraweeh prayers.

On the directives of Chief Executive Officer Qesco, Engineer Yousuf Shah Khan, a centralized regional control room has been established to monitor the situation round the clock. The control room, set up at the Power Distribution Center (PDC) at Qesco Headquarters, will operate under the supervision of the company’s General Managers and Chief Engineer to closely monitor the continuity and status of power supply during the sacred hours.
