Maryam Nawaz vows Punjab’s gull support to Balochistan

QUETTA: In a significant show of inter-provincial solidarity, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday pledged her government’s complete cooperation and resources for Balochistan’s development and the eradication of terrorism.

Addressing a gathering during her first official visit to any province since assuming office, CM Maryam stated, “The Punjab government is ready to provide all possible cooperation, resources, and support to Balochistan.” She expressed deep gratitude for the warm welcome extended by Balochistan’s leadership, including Governor Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhel and Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, who were present alongside provincial ministers and assembly members.

Paying tribute to CM Bugti, she acknowledged the challenges faced by the province, stating he “deserves tribute for running the province in these circumstances,” and emphasized that Balochistan requires perseverance to overcome its issues.

Reflecting in her visit to the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters, the Punjab Chief Minister commended the force’s determination, which she said boosted her morale. She assured full provincial support in the ongoing operation against “Fitna-Al-Khawarij” – a term often used for militant outfits – and other state challenges. “The Punjab government stands with Balochistan at every level,” she affirmed.
