LAHORE: Authorities have placed Lahore on high security alert following the Islamabad incident, police said.
Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddiq Kamyana ordered enhanced security measures across the city to prevent any untoward incident.
Police have tightened security at Imambargahs, mosques, and other religious sites, warning that authorities will tolerate no negligence at places of worship. Kamyana directed officers to ensure foolproof security at public places, markets, and crowded areas to protect lives and property.
He also ordered stricter monitoring at entry and exit points of the city and instructed police to keep a close watch on suspicious individuals and vehicles.
The CCPO told supervisory officers to remain active in the field and continuously monitor security arrangements. Police teams have increased surveillance in hotspot areas, while the Safe City Authority continues round-the-clock monitoring of roads and sensitive locations through its camera network.
Kamyana urged citizens to immediately report any suspicious activity by calling 15 or contacting the nearest police station to enable swift action.
He said maintaining law and order remains the police’s top priority and stressed that authorities will neutralize all potential threats with public cooperation.
