Security Forces Kill Four Militants in Quetta

QUETTA: Pakistani security forces, in coordination with the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), killed four militants during a joint intelligence-based operation on Sariab Road in Quetta, officials said on Saturday.

According to security sources, the operation targeted militants linked to an outlawed group identified by authorities as “Fitna-e-Hindustan.” The suspects were killed following an intense exchange of gunfire, after which the area was secured.

Officials said the operation foiled a major planned terrorist attack. A cache of weapons, ammunition, motorcycles, and explosive materials was recovered from the site.

Security forces later conducted a clearance operation in the surrounding area to rule out the presence of any additional suspects, officials added.

Pakistan has intensified intelligence-led operations in recent months amid a rise in militant activity, particularly in Balochistan.
