Islamabad: Met Office forecasts new spell of rain across upper parts of Pakistan
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted a fresh wave of rainfall and snowfall in the country’s upper and central regions.
According to the forecast, intermittent rain is expected from January 31 to February 3 in upper parts of the country, including Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Hazara Division, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and several cities in Punjab—along with snowfall in mountainous areas.
This weather system is likely to intensify cold conditions across the affected regions for the next several days.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued alerts to all relevant departments and directed them to remain on high alert.
Authorities have been instructed to make advance arrangements for clearing roads and major highways in snowfall-prone areas.
Tourists have also been advised to avoid traveling to crowded tourist spots during this period to prevent any difficulties in case of emergency situations.
