Pakistan Navy Assumes Command of CTF-150 for 14th Time

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Navy assumed command of Combined Task Force-150 (CTF-150) for the 14th time during a change-of-command ceremony in Bahrain, said a statement issued by the ISPR, media affairs wing of the Pakistan Army.

The ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF). Commodore Muhammad Yasir Tahir of the Pakistan Navy took over command from Commodore Fahad S. Al Joaid of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces.

Addressing the gathering, Commodore Tahir said his team was fully prepared to carry out the task force’s mission. He said Pakistan Navy remains committed to strengthening maritime security and stability in the region.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to counter illicit maritime activities. He said the force would focus on protecting vital sea lines of communication.

CTF-150 operates under the Combined Maritime Forces, a multinational naval partnership. The task force works to deter and disrupt non-state actors involved in trafficking weapons, narcotics and other illegal goods.

The force operates across the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman.

Pakistan Navy ships conducted several successful anti-narcotics operations during the Saudi-led command. Officials said the efforts reflected Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace through cooperative maritime security.
