PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has directed authorities to expedite work on the Swat and Peshawar–Dera Ismail Khan motorways, emphasising that motorway construction is among the provincial government’s signature development initiatives and must be completed within the stipulated timelines.
“There is no room for any delay in the implementation of these projects. I will personally supervise their progress,” the Chief Minister said, adding that the provincial government will ensure the provision of all required resources on a priority basis for projects of public importance.
He further stated that legislation will be introduced to safeguard the construction and completion of mega development projects, regardless of which political party is in power. According to him, the government is developing an extensive road network to promote business activity, generate employment, and boost trade across the province.

“The construction of new motorways will strengthen the local economy, create employment opportunities, and accelerate overall development,” the Chief Minister remarked.
The meeting reviewed the progress of the Peshawar–D.I. Khan and Dir motorways, as well as Swat Expressway Phase II.
