QUETA: Pakistan’s Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert, warning that severe cold conditions will persist across most northern districts of Balochistan, while dense fog is likely to affect several areas.
The department said morning fog may develop over Dera Bugti, Kohlu, Dera Murad Jamali, Jaffarabad, Nasirabad, Jhal Magsi, Sibi and surrounding regions, potentially reducing visibility and disrupting travel.
According to official data, temperatures dropped to the freezing point in Quetta and Ziarat, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 0 degrees Celsius. Kalat experienced sub-zero conditions at minus 3 degrees, while Zhob recorded 4 degrees, Sibi 3 degrees, Turbat 13 degrees, Nokkundi 7 degrees and Chaman 4 degrees Celsius.
Cold weather has also gripped the coastal belt. Gwadar recorded a minimum temperature of 14 degrees Celsius, while Jiwani saw temperatures fall to 13 degrees.

The meteorological department advised residents to take precautionary measures, particularly during early morning hours, as cold and foggy conditions are expected to continue.
