KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced a public holiday in schools across the province on the occasion of Shab-e-Meraj.
According to a notification issued by the Sindh Education Department, all public and private educational institutions will remain closed on January 17.
The Shan-e-Meraj’s holiday will fall on Saturday and It will be followed by the holiday on Sunday, so the people will two two successive leaves.
It is worth noting that holidays are also announced in Sindh on the birth anniversaries of Sufi saints, the death anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, Eid festivals, Youm-e-Ashura, and other significant occasions.
