ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Communications and President of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, Abdul Aleem Khan, has stated that the solution to Pakistan’s governance challenges lies in the formation of more provinces, stressing that new administrative units would benefit everyone.
Speaking to the media in Gujranwala, he said a nationwide movement should be launched for the creation of additional provinces, adding that those who oppose such reforms would be responded to firmly.
He pointed out that the country currently has limited high court facilities, forcing people to travel long distances for legal matters.
Aleem Khan expressed support for the establishment of separate provinces in South Punjab, North Punjab, and Central Punjab.
He clarified that there is no intention to change provincial identities, emphasizing that Balochistan would retain its name.
The federal minister further remarked that if Sindh can have a government, it could also function with multiple chief ministers, arguing that there would be no harm if Balochistan also had more than one chief minister.
Reiterating his stance, he said increasing the number of provinces is essential to resolving public issues and urged all political parties to show political maturity and work collectively in the national interest.
