Missing person from Balochistan returns home after nearly two years

MACH: The missing person from Balochistan has safely returned home after being absent for nearly one year and ten months, bringing relief to his family and renewed hope to relatives of other missing individuals across the province.

In this regard, Meer Zaman Samalani Baloch, son of Shah Zaman Samalani Baloch and a resident of Mach, returned to his home on December 29, 2025. 

He had been missing since February 4, 2024. The return indicates the end of a prolonged period of uncertainty and concern for his family, who had been seeking information about his whereabouts since his disappearance.

In this sense, the relevant commission dealing with missing persons has been formally informed of Meer Zaman’s return. So far, the officials said the case will be officially closed during the commission’s next scheduled hearing, in line with standard procedures. 

Furthermore, the development is part of a broader pattern seen in recent weeks. With this case, the total number of missing persons who have returned home during December 2025 has reached seven. 

The return of Meer Zaman Samalani Baloch has also been confirmed by the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), a prominent advocacy group that documents cases of enforced disappearances in the region. 

The organization acknowledged the development through its official social media platforms, confirming that the individual had reunited with his family.

Meanwhile, the families of missing persons and human rights groups have welcomed the news, describing it as a positive and encouraging step. Many expressed hope that similar developments will follow and that other missing individuals will also return home safely in the coming days. 

However, the return has brought relief, families and rights organizations reiterated that many cases remain unresolved. They called for sustained efforts to trace missing persons and to provide clear information to affected families. 

For now, the safe return of Meer Zaman Samalani Baloch stands as a moment of relief amid an ongoing humanitarian concern, offering renewed hope to those still waiting for answers.
