DERA BUGTI: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has been officially named the new Chief of the Bugti tribes, local tribal elders confirmed on Monday.
Bugti tribal leaders selected Mir Sarfaraz as the eighth Chief of the Bugti, entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the tribal setup. Elders prayed for his success and safety.
The formal “dastar bandi” (turban-tying) ceremony will be held in Bakr, Dera Bugti, on Monday, where he will be officially invested with the tribal leadership.
All major Bugti tribal chiefs and elders will attend the ceremony. Participating tribes include Shambani, Kalpar, Mundrani, Pirozani, Nothani, and Domb tribes.
Members of the Bugti Nawab family will also attend and perform the traditional turban-tying ritual, in line with tribal customs.
Tribal sources said the appointment aims to strengthen unity within the Bugti clans and preserve centuries-old tribal traditions.
