Karachi: Sindh Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, addressing a press conference alongside police officers, stated that criminal elements brainwash underage boys and girls.
He explained that a girl from Balochistan was contacted through social media and prepared to become a suicide bomber, with terrorists indoctrinating her by feeding her specific narratives.
The girl has two brothers, one of whom serves in the police. She used social media like ordinary people.
Additional IG CTD Azad Khan revealed that a BLA operative contacted the girl via Instagram. Initially, she was provided with hate-filled material.
During the press conference, the girl herself stated that she had a strong passion for reading and writing.
She further explained that figures such as Sammi Baloch, Mahrang Baloch, and others were constantly presented to her as heroes.
She was repeatedly assured that if she carried out a destructive act, people would remember her as well.
The girl recounted that she was first kept with a woman, and then on December 25, while heading toward a checkpoint, police stopped her and asked questions she could not answer, leading to her being taken into protective custody.

At the press conference, Sindh Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar stated that the terrorists’ narrative is based on lies and that underage children are being lured through social media.
He emphasized that due to the girl’s young age, authorities do not consider her a culprit.
He added that timely action by the institutions prevented major destruction and rescued the girl from the BLA terrorists‘ plan.
