8 militants killed in a joint-operation in Karak

KARAK: The Security forces have killed 8 militants in a joint-operation in the Daresh Khel area of Karak.

According to the DPO, the Police and the CTD have launched a joint-operation in the Daresh khel area of Karak. 8 Fitna al Khawarij militants have been killed during the operation. The operation was launched in response to the militant attacks on a police van in Karak which caused deaths to five policemen.

The DPO said that the operation was carried out on intelligence report which disclosed the presence of the militants in the area.

It is woth mentioning that the spokesperson said a police patrol came under attack in the Gurguri area of Karak district.

The officers were deployed to protect an oil and gas company operating in the area.

Attackers also set the police vehicle on fire before fleeing the scene, police said.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the assault.

Police said militants linked to India-backed proxy group Fitna al-Khawarij have been involved in recent attacks on police and other law enforcement agencies in the region.

The attack comes days after a local Taliban commander, identified as Kalim, was killed in a targeted strike near the same area.

The funeral of the martyred policemen has been offered in the Police Line Karak.

It is worth mentioning that the Indian-sponsored militants of Fitna al Khawarij have launched several militant-attacks in KP and Balochistan in the past many years.

All such terror groups are funded, trained and backed by India and have their havens and hideouts in Afghanistan.

Pakistan has stressed on Afghanistan to ensure that the militant groups do not use the Afghan soil to launch attacks on the Pakistani territory.

However, no serious measures have been taken by the Afghan government against the Indian-sponsored militants so far.
