QILA ABDULLAH: Deputy Commissioner Munawar Hussain Magsi conducted a rigorous field inspection on Thursday to oversee the ongoing polio vaccination campaign across the district.
The DC visited multiple areas to personally review the progress of the immunization drive. He met with frontline polio teams deployed in the field to obtain a detailed briefing on their performance, coverage rates, and any challenges they were encountering.
To ensure transparency and accuracy in the campaign’s reporting, Deputy Commissioner Magsi physically checked the fingerprint marks applied to children’s fingers after vaccination. This measure is a critical tool for verifying that each administered dose is properly recorded.
Issuing clear directives, DC Magsi emphasized that the teams must leave no child unvaccinated. “Access to every house must be ensured,” he stated. He warned that no negligence would be tolerated and directed concerned officers to provide full supervision and immediate resolution of any operational issues.
“The district administration will utilize all available resources to make this polio campaign a success,” Magsi affirmed, underscoring the administration’s commitment to the eradication drive.
The Deputy Commissioner also made a public appeal, urging parents to extend full cooperation to the visiting health teams. He called upon families to ensure their children receive the crucial polio drops to protect future generations from the debilitating disease.
The visit underscores the administration’s hands-on approach to overcoming last-mile challenges in Pakistan’s national effort to eliminate polio, with a particular focus on accountability and community engagement in Qila Abdullah.
Meanwhile security officials have forcefully rejected the latest claims of attacks on security forces’ posts by the banned separatist organization, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), dismissing them as “false propaganda” and “baseless stories” fabricated to please external handlers.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, authorities categorically denied the BLA’s social media assertions of having launched assaults in the Bagzo area of Mand and the Beri area of Dasht in Balochistan. “There is not even a shred of truth in this,” the official response stated, emphasizing that no such incidents occurred.
