ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Election Commission (ECP) has released key details of the upcoming local government elections in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province.
According to ECP officials, 103 candidates have been elected unopposed across 641 wards in Quetta.
The commission said no nomination papers were filed in 18 wards, leaving those seats vacant for now.
ECP officials confirmed that polling will take place on December 28 in 520 of the 641 wards.
The Election Commission said Quetta has a total of 823,707 registered voters for the local government elections.
The announcement provides clarity on the scope of the polls as authorities finalize preparations for voting in the remaining contested wards.
