WASHINGTON: According to a prominent U.S. newspaper, North Korea has initiated formal military exercises involving “swarm attacks” that combine conventional weapons with unmanned drones.
The Wall Street Journal reports that this advanced military strategy, inspired by lessons learned from conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, could pose a major challenge to the air defense systems of the United States and its allies.
State media in North Korea revealed that a comprehensive joint military drill was recently conducted, simultaneously deploying attack drones, nuclear-capable missiles, advanced rockets, and long-range artillery to obliterate a single designated target.
The primary objective of this exercise was to establish seamless coordination among various weapon systems, enabling concentrated firepower to neutralize opposing forces.
Furthermore, North Korea announced the successful testing of two alleged hypersonic missiles, which are capable of flying at least five times the speed of sound and unpredictably changing trajectory mid-flight to easily bypass modern missile defense shields.
