QUETTA: A high-level parliamentary committee convened on Friday to scrutinize Balochistan’s development blueprint, with Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti chairing the session. The committee, comprising nominated members from government and allied parties, conducted a comprehensive review of ongoing projects under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) and deliberated on proposals for the upcoming fiscal year’s development agenda.
In his address, Chief Minister Bugti underscored the provincial government’s unwavering commitment to the timely completion of projects and the transparent utilization of public funds. “Timely completion of development projects in the province and transparent use of financial resources are our top priority,” he stated. He emphasized that every initiative must translate into tangible public benefit and contribute to the province’s economic uplift, urging committee members to maintain rigorous oversight.
Bugti called for constant vigilance from the parliamentary committee, tasking them with actively monitoring progress and swiftly addressing any delays or obstacles hindering project implementation. The meeting focused on strategizing to enhance the quality and accelerate the pace of ongoing work, incorporating member consultations for the forthcoming development program.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the government is employing all available resources to ensure direct public benefit from development initiatives. He highlighted that transparent and effective execution is achievable through robust parliamentary oversight and improved inter-departmental coordination. The discussions also centered on sectoral goals, prioritizing efficient resource use to drive development, generate employment, and deliver essential facilities across Balochistan.
