Federal minister Calls ‘No More Meetings’ with Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Announces Suspension of Meetings with PTI Founding Chairman.

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, stated that from today, meetings with PTI’s founding chairperson, Azma Khan, have been suspended.

He was speaking alongside Federal Minister for Law, Azam Nazir Tarar, during a press conference.

He explained that the purpose of meetings is to inquire about well-being and updates.

“It is not acceptable to have a meeting inside and start propaganda outside,” he said.

He added that the facilities provided to the founding chairperson are unprecedented in history.

Furthermore, he mentioned that the founding chairperson is allowed to write only one letter per week.

The Federal Minister emphasized that anyone who does not follow the law will not be granted permission for meetings.

He also stated that the sister of the founding chairperson relayed information about a threat to Imran Khan, which was circulated through Indian and Afghan media.

“The authority of the state will be restored at all costs,” he asserted.

He clarified that if the law is violated outside the prison, such elements will be dealt with firmly.

“They aim to damage national integrity. It is unacceptable to attend meetings and then speak about overthrowing the state,” he said, adding that the state defeated India and must be protected.

At the same event, Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar commented on the notification issue, stating that unnecessary panic is being created over a routine process.

“The notification process is ongoing and can arrive at any time. Rest assured, the official notification will be issued.”

He noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was not in the country and explained that Article 243 contains no ambiguity.

According to the Army Act, the Chief of the Army will be the Chief of Defense Forces, and the President, on the advice of the Prime Minister, will reappoint accordingly.

He clarified that there is no ambiguity in the Air Force, Navy, or Army Acts.

He added that gatherings continued during the founding chairperson’s meetings, despite the Supreme Court’s order stating that a convicted prisoner cannot remain the head of a political party.

Responding to questions, Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar stated that the founding chairperson is a convicted individual in the £190 million case.
