Turkey’s delegation to visit to Pakistan next week

BAKU: Turkey’s president Rajab Tayyip Erdogan has said that the Turkish Foreign Minister, the Defence Minister and the Intelligence Chief will visit to Pakistan during the Next week so reduce the strain between Pakistan and Turkey.

The Turkish president Rajab Tayyib Erdogan made this announcement on Sunday during media talk while returning from his visit to Azerbaijan.

The Turkish president said that the Taliban delegation participated in the peace talks without any certain plan and denied to sign the written agreement.

He said that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Defense Minister Yasar Guler, and Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalin are scheduled to visit Islamabad next week.

Erdogan affirmed that Turkey will continue its efforts for the regional peace and de-escalation.

According to sources, the talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan held in Istanbul have concluded without any agreement, as both sides failed to reach a consensus on a mechanism for monitoring cross-border terrorism.

Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif confirmed that the dialogue has ended and is now “suspended indefinitely.”

Sources said that during the negotiations, Turkey and Qatar acted as mediators, attempting to facilitate communication between the two delegations.

However, there was no direct meeting between them on Friday. The Pakistani delegation was led by ISI Director General Lt. Gen. Asim Malik, while the Afghan delegation was headed by Abdul Haq Wasiq, Chief of the General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI).

According to Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi, the Pakistani delegation presented its stance with concrete evidence and arguments, conveying its demands to the Afghan representatives through the mediators.

Sources further revealed that although the talks have stalled, the temporary ceasefire between the two countries remains in effect.

Pakistan has a clear stance that any further militancy from the Afghanistan’s territory will be not be tolerated.

No such talks can be turn out to be meaningful until the Afghan government takes some necessary measures against the militant groups operating against Pakistan.
