ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Interior, Mohsin Naqvi, stated that the Prime Minister will complete his full five-year term, reassuring that the current government is stable and not going anywhere.
Responding to a journalist’s question, Naqvi questioned why he would issue a charge sheet against his own government while being an active part of it.
He clarified that his earlier comments were directed at the country’s 78-year-old administrative system, which he described as failed.
Naqvi mentioned that his attendance in cabinet meetings stands at roughly 70 percent and praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for working 16 to 18 hours daily.
He added that if the Prime Minister receives an effective system and proper support, results could be a thousand times better.
Naqvi alleged that certain elements are attempting to create a rift between him and the Prime Minister, but asserted that such attempts will fail.
The Interior Minister suggested that the Prime Minister conduct a third-party audit to evaluate the performance of various ministries.
Reiterating his stance, Naqvi noted that the system was in disarray over the past year and clarified that his intention was to highlight shortcomings rather than criticize.
He concluded by pointing out key achievements of the current administration, including successes on the diplomatic front and significant increases in revenue collection by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
