Islamabad: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Cyber Crime Reporting Centre, Islamabad, has registered a case against Muhammad Sohail, son of Muhammad Sattar, a resident of Shalobar Qambar Khel, Bara Khyber.
The case was lodged by Mr. Anees Ur Rehman on behalf of the State under sections 11, 20, and 26-A of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016.
According to the FIR, Muhammad Sohail and others knowingly and deliberately circulated false, misleading, and derogatory statements against state institutions through social media, including a YouTube channel titled PTI Official PK.
The video contained offensive and fabricated remarks targeting state institutions, aiming to malign, defame, and harm the reputation and integrity of the State of Pakistan.
The content was created and shared to spread fake and ill-willed information, incite public disorder, and destabilize national security.
The FIR states that such actions were intended to create panic, fear, and unrest among the public by promoting anti-state narratives through digital platforms.
Following the completion of the inquiry on November 8, 2025, the NCCIA Cyber Crime Centre registered the case for further investigation.
Sub-Inspector Waseem Khan has been assigned to lead the investigation under the supervision of NCCIA officials.
It is worth mentioning that Sohail Afridi, the CM of KP has taken over the designation just a few days ago.
He has shown a rather aggressive and indifferent approach towards the institutions of the national security of Pakistan.
On the directives of Imran khan, the KP CM has not only opposed the repatriation of the Afghan nationals but he had also expressed his displeasure over the operation carried out by the armed forces against the militants in KP.
Sohail Afridi did not attend many important meetings the issue of national security and peace and stability headed by PM and the COAS. He was absent from the 17th National workshop over Balochistan.
