Hong Kong Super Sixes: India beat Pakistan by two runs in rain-hit clash

HONG KONG: India defeated Pakistan by two runs under the DLS method in their Super Sixes clash in Hong Kong on Friday. The match was interrupted by rain, and the result was later determined through the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern formula.

Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first in the Group C encounter. Led by Abbas Afridi, Pakistan had earlier defeated Kuwait in their opening match.

India made a strong start, scoring 13 runs off Shahid Aziz’s opening over, with Robin Uthappa hitting a six and a four. Afridi’s second over proved costly, conceding 21 runs as India’s batters maintained pressure.

Pakistan’s bowlers later fought back to regain control, but rain ultimately shifted the momentum in India’s favor.

The two sides last met in the 2025 Asia Cup final, where Pakistan fell short due to a combination of bad luck and inconsistent play.

The Hong Kong Super Sixes, sanctioned by the ICC, is a six-a-side cricket tournament known for its fast-paced and entertainment-driven format.
