Preparations continue for the local government election

 

QUETTA: The preparations for the local government election in Quetta continue with full intensity after the issuance of the schedule from the Election Commission of Pakistan.

A televised report has narrated that the preparations of the local government election continue with a massive intensity.

According to the report, the preparations are in a massive flow for the polling for the 641 general seats of 172 union councils in Quetta.

According to the sources of the Election commission of Pakistan, a notice for the nomination papers will be issued on the 11th November.

The nomination papers will be submitted to the Returning officers from 13th to 17th of November.

The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be carried out from 19th to 24th November.

The final list of the candidates will be published on 5th December.

The Election Commission will allot the Election Symbol on the 6th of December.

The polling for the local government elections will be carried out on the 28th December.

According to the sources of the officials of Election Commission of Pakistan, the results of the local body election will be finalized till 31st December 2025.

It is worth mentioning that the government of Balochistan had submitted an appeal in the Balochistan High Court to postpone the local government election in Quetta keeping in view the law-and-order situation in Quetta a few days ago.

However, the Balochistan High Court had turned down the appeal and had ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan to issue a schedule of the local government election in Quetta.

The experts say that the local government election will play a vital role in the development and upgrading of infrastructure in the backward areas of the provincial capital of Balochistan.

It is worth mentioning that the Balochistan High Court had ordered the ECP to conduct the local government election in the End of September.
