Balochistan police witness massive reshuffle

QUETTA: The Balochistan Police Department has witnessed a massive reshuffle of key transfers and postings across the province.

According to an official notification, Additional Inspector General (AIG) Balochistan Constabulary, Agha Muhammad Yousaf, has been transferred and appointed as Inspector General (IG) Counter Terrorism Command Balochistan.

Meanwhile, Ashfaq Ahmed has been appointed as the new Inspector General of the Balochistan Constabulary, Quetta, replacing Agha Muhammad Yousaf.

The notification stated that the reshuffle aims to improve operational efficiency and strengthen coordination within the provincial police force.

It is pertinent to mention here that in September Mohammad Tahir was appointed as IGP Balochistan. His appointment led to a new controversy as the Additional IG Balochistan police Saeed Wazir has refused to work under him.

The Additional IG Balochistan Police Saeed Wazir has written to the Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir that he is not willing to work under the newly appointed IG Balochistan Police Mohammad Tahir.

While justifying his stance, the Additional IG Balochistan Police has said that Mohammad Tahir has worked as his junior officer so he cannot perform his duties under the command of Mohammad Tahir.

Saeed Wazir has also decided to give up the charge of Additional IG Balochistan Police. In his official letter, Saeed Wazir has said that Mohammad Tahir is extremely passionate, honest and vigilant officer, however, being a senior, he does not find it appropriate to work under Mohammad Tahir.
