QUETTA: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Balochistan Muhammad Tahir said that concrete measures are being taken to further strengthen the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and improve the overall investigation process in the province.
He said the police were utilising all available resources to maintain exemplary peace in Balochistan.
The IGP Balochistan expressed these views during his visit to Noshki, where he addressed officers and personnel at a Police Darbar. During the gathering, the IGP listened to the issues faced by police officers and assured them that their problems would be resolved on a priority basis.
DIG Rakhshan Range Ayaz Ahmed Baloch and other senior officials were also present on the occasion. As part of his visit, the IGP Balochistan inspected the police lines and the local police station to review facilities and ongoing operations.
IGP Tahir emphasised that the cooperation of the public is essential to defeating anti-state and terrorist elements and making Balochistan a cradle of peace. “The police force was established to protect the lives and property of citizens and to eradicate criminal elements — this duty we will continue to fulfill till our last breath,” he said.
Paying tribute to the fallen heroes, he said the martyrs of the police are a source of inspiration for the entire force. “We will not let their sacrifices go in vain; their mission will be completed,” he vowed.
He added that the families of the martyrs are not alone, as the entire police force stands with them. “We are utilising all available resources for the welfare and support of the families of our martyrs,” the IGP said.

Earlier this month, IGP Balochistan had announced a historic welfare package for police martyrs, serving personnel, and retired officers, introducing a series of major financial relief measures aimed at improving the welfare of police families.
IG Tahir said the package is designed to ensure the well-being of police employees and their families, both in service and after retirement.
Under the new measures, the immediate financial assistance for families of martyrs has been doubled from Rs100,000 to Rs200,000.
