ISLAMABAD: After suffering heavy defeats at multiple points along the Pak-Afghan border, the Afghan Taliban have turned to false propaganda to conceal their casualties and financial losses, security sources said.
Taliban spokespersons and affiliated social media accounts circulated a video claiming they had captured a Pakistani tank.

The Fact: security and defence expert said that that the video misrepresented the facts. The tank shown in the videos is the Russian-made T-55 tank is in Taliban possession. There are also number of such number of tanks in Taliban use.
Pakistan Army’s swift and decisive retaliation has thrown the Afghan Taliban into disarray, sources said. The Taliban’s attempts to spread misinformation failed to hide their battlefield losses and organizational setbacks.
Security officials say that Pakistan’s armed forces continue to defend the homeland with determination and courage, effectively repelling Taliban attacks along the border despite ongoing propaganda efforts.
Meanwhile, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir called on President Arif Ali Zardari at the President House in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The meeting came amid recent clashes along the Pak-Afghan border following Pakistan’s last week reported strikes on hideouts of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Indian-backed Afghan Taliban in Kabul and Paktika.
The Army Chief briefed the President on the country’s internal and external security situation. He highlighted the Afghan Taliban’s provocative actions and detailed Pakistan Army’s effective and timely responses.
