KARACHI: A high-level meeting was held in Karachi to review the progress of a major shrimp farming project planned for the coastal areas of Balochistan. The meeting was chaired by Bilal Khan Kakar, Vice Chairman of the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT).
The meeting included prominent business leaders and former Chief Minister Balochistan, Alauddin Marri. Attendees discussed the project’s details, its potential for investment, and the high international demand for shrimp.
All participants agreed that the project represents a “new chapter” for Balochistan’s economy. They highlighted that it is expected to create thousands of local jobs and significantly boost Pakistan’s exports.

Vice Chairman Kakar reaffirmed the Balochistan government’s full commitment to the project’s early completion. He stated that Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has a clear policy to promote economic activity and that the government will provide complete support and facilities to investors at every level. He promised that no obstacles would be tolerated for domestic or foreign investment.
Kakar emphasized that the project will open new avenues for socio-economic development in the coastal regions and help Balochistan gain a prominent position in the global seafood industry.
