Pakistan Army kills 31 Indian-backed Khawarij in KP operations

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army said on Monday it killed 31 Indian-backed Fitna-al-Khawarij militants in two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The total number of terrorists associated with Indian proxy Fitna al Khwarij, killed during the last five days of intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has risen to 66.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media affairs wing of the Pakistan Army, security forces launched the first operation in Lakki Marwat district on September 13. Troops engaged in a fierce gun battle and killed 14 militants while targeting their hideouts.

In a second operation in Bannu district on September 14, security forces killed another 17 foreign-backed militants after intense fighting, ISPR said. A clearance operation is still underway to eliminate any remaining threats in the area.

The military spokesperson stressed that security forces remain committed to eradicating what they described as Indian-backed terrorism from the country.

The latest operations followed an earlier raid on September 11 in Lower Dir’s Lal Qila Maidan area, where troops killed 10 militants linked to the same network.

In that exchange of fire, seven Pakistani soldiers were martyred while rescuing civilians held hostage by the militants, ISPR added.

It is pertinent to mention here that the security forces killed 35 militants associated with the Indian proxy Fitna al Khawarij in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa between September 10 and 13.

The intelligence-based operations were carried out in the Bajaur and South Waziristan districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During the operation in South Waziristan, twelve soldiers who fought bravely were also martyred.
