ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received a telephone call from the United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during which both leaders reasserted their commitment to further strengthen Pakistan-US relations.
The discussion indicated mutual satisfaction over the positive trajectory of bilateral ties and the shared resolve to expand cooperation across diverse sectors.
The leaders acknowledged that Pakistan and the United States enjoy longstanding relations rooted in people-to-people contacts, trade, investment, security cooperation, and regional stability.
Furthermore, Dar mentioned Pakistan’s desire to broaden economic and development partnerships with the United States, underlining opportunities in trade, technology, climate resilience, and investment. He also reiterated Pakistan’s continued commitment to peace and stability in the region, focusing on the importance of constructive engagement with international partners.
In this regard, Secretary Rubio welcomed Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen regional security and reaffirmed the United States’ support for a stable, prosperous, and democratic Pakistan.
The two leaders also exchanged views on pressing regional and international developments, noting the importance of dialogue, cooperation, and diplomacy in resolving emerging challenges.
However, the diplomatic observers see the exchange as a positive signal of continuity in Pakistan-US engagement at the highest level, particularly as both countries navigate evolving regional dynamics.
