ISLAMABAD: British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday and pledged £3 million in emergency flood relief for affected communities.
The High Commissioner expressed the United Kingdom’s solidarity with Pakistan as it confronts the devastation of recent floods and the ongoing monsoon season.
She said additional humanitarian support, including for recovery, would follow in coordination with the Government of Pakistan and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
Dar welcomed the UK’s commitment and thanked London for recognizing the scale of the crisis and responding to Pakistan’s urgent needs.

Both sides also reviewed bilateral relations, emphasized the importance of high-level exchanges, and discussed recent regional and international developments.
