Surrendered militant exposes shocking crimes of Khawarij, Gul Bahadur group

ISLAMABAD:  A surrendered militant linked to the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group has made explosive revelations about the extremist network “Fitna al-Khawarij,” exposing its crimes against Islam and humanity.

Identified as Abdul Samad, the former militant surrendered during a successful operation by the Pakistan Army and later issued a detailed confessional statement.

“I spent nearly four and a half years in Afghanistan, where I received training in using Kalashnikov rifles,” Abdul Samad revealed. He added that he later joined militant commanders associated with Hafiz Gul Bahadur’s network, including Commander Sadiq and Commander Asad, operating in Zangoti Khursin.

According to Abdul Samad, extremist commanders openly declared the Pakistan Army as “apostates” and forced recruits to manufacture improvised explosive devices (IEDs), landmines, and drone bombs inside mosques. He described how one such mosque, known as Minar Wali Masjid, served as a hub where Asad commanded about 15 men. Other mosques in Din Akbar, Mirza Khan, and Laood Khel villages each housed 10 militants.

“While making IEDs and mines in the mosque, they played obscene videos and music. Commander Asad kept two children with him for immoral acts”, he said adding They desecrated mosques, disrespected the Holy Quran, and abused children.

Samad confessed that the brutality of the militants eventually shook his faith in them.

“When I saw their actions, I realised they were worse than disbelievers. I spent five years with the Taliban and only five days with the Pakistan Army, but I testify that the Army is right and the Taliban are wrong,” he declared.

He added that Taliban leaders called the Army “hypocrites,” but his personal experience convinced him otherwise.

“In truth, it is the Taliban who are hypocrites,” he said.

Before fleeing an Army raid, Commander Asad collected mobile phones and identity cards from his men, erased phone data, and escaped with the documents.

In his final message, Samad urged Pakistanis to protect their children from extremist groups and support the Army’s efforts.

“The Khawarij spread corruption in the name of Islam. My appeal to the people is to keep your children away from them and cooperate with the Army,” he said.

Abdul Samad’s testimony has exposed the “ugly face of Khawarij”, unmasking their hypocrisy, desecration of Islamic values, and exploitation of children.
