Pakistan Air Force Day marked with national zeal and reverence

ISLAMABAD: The nation is observing Air Force Day today with great passion and reverence to honor the courage, professionalism, and sacrifices of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) during the 1965 war.

As part of the commemoration, a PAF contingent will pay homage at the grave of Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas (Nishan-e-Haider), laying floral wreaths and presenting a guard of honor.

In this sense, the Air Force Day is closely linked with the events of September 7, 1965, a day remembered for the unmatched heroism of Squadron Leader Muhammad Mahmood Alam (M.M. Alam).

Furthermore, throughout the 1965 war, the PAF played a decisive role by striking Indian air bases at Pathankot, Halwara, and Jamnagar, causing heavy damage to the adversary’s fleet.

In this regard, the successful operations by the PAF not only disrupted enemy advances but also showcased the strategic importance of air power in modern warfare.

Moreover, the Air Force Day, observed annually after Defence Day (September 6), stands as a tribute to the selfless sacrifices and indomitable spirit of the airmen who defended the country’s sovereignty.

This day reminds the nation that Pakistan’s air guardians remain vigilant, ready to defend the homeland with courage and conviction.
