QUETTA: The Balochistan Awami Endowment Fund (BAEF) has emerged as an important source of relief for the poor and deserving segments of society, offering financial support to patients suffering from life-threatening diseases.
In this regard, with an allocation of Rs. 7 billion, the initiative has become a lifeline for thousands of families across the province. So far, the fund provides medical assistance worth Rs. 90 million each month for the treatment of cancer, heart ailments, liver complications, kidney diseases, and thalassemia.
Furthermore, health officials have described the program as one of the most impactful welfare initiatives of the provincial government, highlighting its role in reducing health-related inequalities. The fund has been designed to cover both advanced medical procedures and long-term treatments, which are often unaffordable for low-income households.
