13 illegal rickshaws seized in Quetta during RTA-led crackdown

QUETTA: At least 13 illegal rickshaws were seized and multiple drives were fined as the crackdown continues a crackdown against illegal rickshaws operating without proper documentation in provincial capital of Balochistan.

According to details, in a joint operation carried out under the special directives of the Commissioner and Chairman of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Quetta Division, and supervised by Secretary RTA Zahoor Ahmed Baloch, 13 unauthorized rickshaws were seized in various areas of Nawan Killi.

The operation was conducted by officials from the RTA Quetta, traffic police, and personnel from Bijli Thana and Zarghoonabad Police Station. In addition to confiscations, several drivers were fined for violating traffic regulations.

Officials claimed that illegal and unregistered vehicles pose serious challenges for the city’s traffic system, adding that the Commissioner of Quetta Division has issued strict instructions for the enforcement of traffic laws to ensure safer and more efficient transportation for the public.

The crackdown will continue as part of an ongoing campaign, with joint operations by the RTA, traffic police, and local police stations. Authorities have vowed to intensify efforts in the coming days to streamline traffic flow and enhance road safety across the city.
