Hub Dam nears to its full capacity after heavy rains

QUETTA: The Hub Dam in Balochistan has almost reached full capacity after recent rains, leaving only six feet before the spillways must be opened, officials said Friday.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reported that the dam’s total capacity is 340 feet. The water level now stands at 334 feet.

In Kech district, Mirani Dam has a capacity of 246 feet and currently holds 226 feet of water. In Zhob district, Sabkazai Dam has a storage capacity of 94 feet, but water levels are at 30 feet.

By contrast, dams in Gwadar face critical shortages due to lack of rainfall. Shadi Kaur Dam, with a capacity of 82 feet, holds only two feet of water. Sawar Dam has just 1.5 feet, while Akurakaur Dam contains only two feet.
