ISLAMABAD: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed a strategic partnership, pledging deeper cooperation on regional security, sovereignty, and development.
The Pakistan Army media wing said that Chinese FM Wang Yi met Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in Islamabad on Thursday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership and enhance coordination at regional and international forums.
Wang Yi reiterated China’s firm support for Pakistan’s sovereignty and development, while Field Marshal Asim Munir thanked Beijing for its consistent support. Both sides pledged to advance peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
Earlier, Wang Yi also met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in a meeting attended by Field Marshal Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. The discussions focused on regional security, counterterrorism, and issues of mutual interest.
