ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday said its Balochistan Zone team arrested a suspect involved in making fake documents to obtain identity cards.
According to the FIA headquarters in Islamabad, the suspect, identified as Bashir Ahmed, was detained near NADRA’s Double Road office and the passport office during a targeted operation.
FIA’s spokesperson said the accused prepared forged documents for citizens and used them to issue CNICs, B-Forms, and death certificates.
Investigators revealed the suspect charged Rs30,000 to Rs40,000 per document. During the search, officials recovered a large quantity of fake papers from his possession.
The agency registered a case against him and launched further investigation. The spokesperson added that the nationwide crackdown on fake CNIC mafias is continuing.
