21 more dead in rain-related accidents across the country

ISLAMABAD: At least 21 more people were killed in rain-related incidents in different parts of the country.

According to details, more rains are forecast in the upper areas of Pakistan, while various areas in the southern coastal city of Karachi remained submerged in water on Wednesday morning after heavy rains.

Rescue officials have confirmed ten deaths in accidents due to rain. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in the country has said that 21 deaths have occurred in the last 24 hours, of which ten occurred in Karachi and 11 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The NDMA has issued an alert of heavy rains, landslides and floods in mountainous areas in different parts of the country. In its statement, the NDMA said that heavy rains are expected in different districts of Balochistan, including Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Qila Saifullah, Loralai, Mastung, Noshki and Barkhan, during the next 12 to 24 hours.

According to the NDMA, heavy rains are expected in various cities of Punjab during the next 12 to 24 hours, with heavy rains expected in Murree, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal and Attock.
