QUETTA: Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) has sealed two illegal food production units operating in residential areas of Surki Road, area of provincial capital of Balochistan.

According to details, BFA team raided one khoya (dried milk) factory and one juice production unit and found out that these factories were operating without proper licenses. The khoya supplier was unable to provide any receipts or traceability records for the raw materials used. BFA team also discovered that the khoya was stored in extremely unhygienic conditions.

Similarly, the juice production unit was producing beverages under fake and unregistered brand names. The raiding party found that the raw materials and finished products were stored improperly. Furthermore, the juice packaging carried incorrect addresses and fake contact numbers, and no laboratory reports were provided to verify product safety.

Samples of four different juice brands manufactured at the unit have been collected and sent for laboratory analysis to assess their quality and safety.
