KOHAT: The tragedy struck the Kohat when unidentified assailants opened indiscriminate fire in the suburban area of Regi Sheno Khel, leaving seven people dead and one critically injured. The victims were returning home after attending a local gathering when they were ambushed by unknown gunmen.
In this sense, the intensity of the firing was such that seven individuals died on the spot, while another sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors described his condition as critical.
In this regard, police personnel reached the scene soon after the attack was reported. The area was cordoned off, and a search operation was launched to trace the perpetrators. The bodies of the deceased were shifted to a local hospital, where relatives gathered in large numbers.

Meanwhile, local elders and community leaders have expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and urged the provincial government to ensure the safety of citizens by strengthening security measures in vulnerable areas.
