BATTAGRAM: The death toll from the last night’s flash flood in Battagram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has soared to 10. At least 18 people are still missing for which a rescue operation of the 1122 is underway.
According to Assistant Commissioner Battagram, Saleem Khan, the incident occurred in Neel Band village, located on the border of Battagram and Mansehra districts. Lightning struck the area late last night, destroying five houses and triggering a sudden flood.
Rescue officials said the powerful torrent swept through the Shamlai Mandrowali locality, where 10 bodies have so far been recovered from the stream. Rescue 1122 teams, police, and local volunteers are continuing search and recovery efforts despite challenging conditions.

Authorities have warned residents to stay away from flood-prone areas as heavy rains persist in the region.
