QUETTA: The Chief Minister of Balochistan, Sarfaraz Bugti, has welcomed the US decision to designate Indian proxy the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and its operational wing, Majeed Brigade, as a foreign terrorist organisation.
Yesterday, the US State Department labbled both groups as foreign terrorist groups and the Majeed Brigade has also been added as an alias under BLA’s previous designation as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) entity.
Reacting to the US move, CM Sarfaraz Bugti said that the US ‘ decision acknowledges Pakistan’s uncondoned sacrifices against terrorism on the global level.
Sarfaraz Bugti also said that terrorism is just terrorism. No one can be allowed to assassinate people on the basis of any cause.
The world needs to unite against terrorism.

Sarfarz Bugti, a day earlier, had said that anyone seeking talks with the state must first lay down arms, assuring that the government will welcome them with open arms. He said that no groups will be allowed to impose its ideology, reaffirming the state’s unwavering support for its people against forces seeking to destabilise the province.
